Hey Sweet Thang

I’m aware the title sounds a bit creepy but we are going to roll with it.

I have an extreme sweet tooth, it is actually sort of amazing that at my last dentist appointment they did not detect a single cavity. Miraculous.

I’ve done a ton of exploring and events lately and I got some stuff to report about the sweets:

Your Mom’s Donuts

I cannot put into words how ecstatic I am that Your Mom’s Donuts has moved into the Park Road Shopping Center. You can find them at the quaint little shed right across from BlackHawk Hardware- the shed used to be a key shop. Your Mom’s has two other locations in Matthews and Monroe, and now all three locations sell out lightning-fast. Good reason for it though because the donuts themselves are out of this world. I’ve had pimento cheese stuffed, Texas Pete glazed donuts to a latte flavor made with Pure Intentions coffee with fresh whipped cream and coffee grounds sprinkled on top. Look on their IG to be updated on what the current flavor is, but I am aiming to try their parfait one very soon!

Choc Box CLT

This is the most ingenious idea, ever. Make someone’s day a little sweeter and give them a box filled with their favorite chocolates, candies, and other sweets. Go online and pick out a box- THEY DELIVER!

I had the Peanut Lover’s Box, complete with all kinds of Reese’s candies, peanut butter chocolate donuts, peanut butter M&M’s, peanut butter itself- heavenly.

Sweet Spot Studio 

Ever wonder how your favorite baker makes the most IG-worthy cakes and sweets? Look no further- Sweet Spot Studio has just opened to the public! Owner Josie Lukacik trained to be a pastry chef in Paris, and is a fantastic teacher- I feel like my cake icing skills are unbeatable now thanks to her! Take a class and learn from the best on how to make the cutest fall cupcakes or a gorgeous naked cake. There will be a variety of classes taught by a bunch of local chefs and pastry chefs, so stay tuned and head to their web site and IG to learn more!
